Oddsmakers Predict NBA Work Stoppage

Not that it should come as a surprise but the oddsmakers at Bodog are predicting that NBA fans and bettors may have a lot of free time on their hands when the 2011-12 season is set to start.

At Bodog the oddsmakers are favoring a work stoppage on their latest NBA props list. On their prop “will the 2011-12 NBA season get started on time” No is a ½ favorite, while Yes is a 3/2 underdog.

The CBA expires Thursday which means a work stoppage could come down anytime there after. Judging by the latest news from the NBA and the union it doesn't look like anything will be worked out before then.

There are a number of contentious issue dividing the two sides, including revenue sharing, the NBA salary cap going forward and guaranteed money on salaries with many NBA owners crying poor and reportedly 22 of 30 teams are losing money.

If you thought the NFL lockout drama was bad you may not have seen anything yet. Taking No at ½ may not pay much at all, but it looks like the closest thing to a lock bettors have going right now.
