NBA Betting: Raptors head out on the road
November 18, 2012
Having won two of their past three games, the Toronto Raptors will hit the road this week and try to pay off on the NBA betting lines in Philadelphia, Charlotte, and Detroit.
The Raptors slipped past the Pacers by a 74-72 score in Indiana last Tuesday night, then fell 107-89 in Boston on Saturday before bouncing back with a 97-86 home win over the Magic on Sunday afternoon. That has the Raptors at 3-7 SU and 4-6 ATS through their first 10 games of the season.
Toronto has lost each of its last two games both SU and ATS against the Sixers, and overall they're 4-6 SU and 5-5 ATS in the past 10 matchups between the Atlantic Division teams. The OVER/UNDER went 3-7 for totals bettors at the sportsbooks in those 10 contests.
The Knicks hold down top spot in the Atlantic standings heading into this week, and they'll be doing a western swing in the days ahead with games against the Hornets on Tuesday, the Mavericks on Wednesday, and the Rockets on Friday.
New York has had almost no success against Houston over the past several seasons, with the Knicks holding records of 1-9 both SU and ATS in their past 10 games against the Rockets. The UNDER has paid out in six of the last seven New York/Houston contests on the NBA betting totals at the sportsbooks.
LeBron James and the Heat have a light schedule this week, with home games against Milwaukee on Wednesday and Cleveland on Saturday. Miami won all three games against LeBron's old team last season, covering the spread in two of those contests - which were all UNDER results for totals bettors.
