NBA Betting: Heat highlight Christmas slate
December 21, 2012
The Miami Heat will be looking to give their supporters a fifth straight payday against the Oklahoma City Thunder for the holidays as those two NBA powers hit the hardwood in South Beach for a Christmas Day contest.
Miami is 4-0 both SU and ATS against Oklahoma City over their past four games, with those matchups coming during the Heat's victory over the Thunder in last year's Finals.
The Heat are also 7-3 SU over their past 10 home games against the Thunder, although Oklahoma City won six of those contests ATS. The OVER/UNDER has gone 6-4 over the past 10 Heat/Thunder matchups down in Miami for totals bettors on the NBA lines.
Miami, which enters the holidays as the big 1/2 favorite on the NBA futures to win the Eastern Conference this season, actually has four games in five days during the holiday week. After playing at home against the Thunder on Tuesday they'll be on the road for games against Charlotte (Wednesday), Detroit (Friday), and Milwaukee (Saturday).
The Heat have won their last two games against the Bucks SU, but Milwaukee has managed to pick up an ATS victory in five of its past six outings against Miami. The OVER has paid out in each of the last three matchups between the Heat and the Bucks.
Milwaukee is also at home on December 26 as they get a visit from the Brooklyn Nets. The Bucks topped the Nets 97-88 in their first meeting of the season on December 9, winning as a 6-point road underdog in an UNDER result. Overall the Bucks are 12-0 both SU and ATS over their past dozen games against the Nets on the NBA betting lines at the sportsbooks.
Tipoff for the Heat/Thunder game on Christmas Day is set for 5:30pm ET. The other games on the schedule for December 25 are Boston at Brooklyn (12:00pm ET), New York at the Lakers (3:00pm ET), Houston at Chicago (8:00pm ET), and Denver at the Clippers (10:30pm ET).
