NBA Betting: Celtics, Sixers go back-to-back
December 02, 2012
With both teams in the thick of the Atlantic Division race, the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers will meet in a home-and-home series later this week to highlight the action on the NBA betting board at the sportsbooks.
Philadelphia enters the week at 10-7 SU and 9-8 ATS, with Boston just behind them at 9-8 SU and 6-8-3 ATS on the season. They both trail the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets in the Atlantic Division standings.
And the Sixers and Celtics will meet in Philadelphia on Friday night and then in Boston on Saturday night this week, with the Sixers beating the Celtics by a score of 106-100 as a 5.5-point road underdog in their first meeting of the season on November 9.
Overall the Celtics have split their last 10 games with the Sixers at 5-5 SU, and they've managed to cover the posted spread on the NBA odds at the sportsbooks in just four of their last 10 meetings. The OVER/UNDER went 7-3 for totals bettors in those contests.
Boston also hosts Minnesota on Wednesday night this week, with the Sixers getting a visit from the Timberwolves on Tuesday night.
The Knicks will be on the road this week, and their schedule includes a stop in Miami on Thursday night; New York thumped Miami 104-84 as a 6-point home underdog on the NBA betting lines in their first meeting this season back on November 2.
Brooklyn's top matchup this week, meanwhile, has them hosting Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. The Thunder are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS over their last 10 games against the Nets, with the OVER/UNDER going 3-7 in those contests for totals bettors.
